Math Monday: Finish the Year Strong
Here’s a quick guide to assessments, activities, and PD to simplify the end of the school year.
End-Of-Year Assessments
Diagnostic and Final
Find ready-to-go assessments on the Financial Algebra Course page. The Financial Algebra Course includes both a diagnostic and final exam.
- Twenty multiple-choice questions on personal finance content
- Ten multiple-choice questions on math content
- Five open-response math questions
Using the Diagnostic
Many of you may already used the Financial Algebra Diagnostic Exam at the start of the year. If so, you're set up beautifully to use the Final Exam to demonstrate student growth.
If you haven’t used the diagnostic yet, it can be a great review tool! You can use it as…
- A study guide to reinforce key concepts and identify gaps
- A practice test for students to self-assess
- A second version of the test
Implementation Tips
- To edit:
- Tests are provided in an editable Google Doc. Click “File” + “Make a copy” to make modifications
- To see which questions align to each unit, open the assessment answer key. At the end, a matrix links each question to the unit in which it’s taught.
- To simplify grading: Use the Google Form version of the test, which can automate grading of multiple-choice sections.
- To find answer keys: Go to the Financial Algebra Course Materials page while logged into your verified NGPF teacher account
